OBJECTIVE: By
the end of class, students will be assessed for comprehension of Lady
or the Tiger, write a summary of the story, brainstorm and analyze
ambiguous endings, and create an ending to an ambiguous story.
DO NOW:
QUICK REVIEW BEFORE TEST.
Take this time to review or ask any questions.
DIRECT INSTRUCTION:Take Lady or the Tiger test.
GUIDED PRACTICE:
Write a summary (4-6 sentences, including key information: who, what, where,
when, and why) on The Lady Or The Tiger.
Be sure to include ONLY key information.
The summary should not be longer than 4-6 sentences.
INDEPENDENT PRACTICE:
Once you have written and turned in your summary, you will create an ending to Lady or The Tiger.
You will decide whether the Lady or the Tiger comes out of the door. Describe the event, the young man’s reaction to the event, the crowd’s reaction to the event, the princess’ reaction, and the king’s reaction.
Be sure to use the vocabulary on the instructions.
This sequel should be at least 2 paragraphs:
First paragraph - What happens when he opens the door.
Second paragraph - The reactions of those who are watching.
EXIT PASS:
What came out of the door in your ending? Why did you make this choice? What do you think this may say about your personality?
