OBJECTIVE:  By the end of class, students will analyze a persuasive essay and identify logical and emotional appeals in literature,

DO NOW:  

Label the following statements as logical or emotional:

1. 60 % of those that purchased the new product stated the reason to be more exposure through television advertising.

2. The commerical's popularity probably increased sales significantly.

LOGICAL APPEALS -  according to reason, according to evidence and facts.

EMOTIONAL APPEALS -  relating to emotions, bringing out strong feelings in reader
