Objective: By the end of class, students will analyze vignettes of HOMS and make real life connections and practice grammar skills.

DO NOW

Complete grammar handout practicing the use of nouns and adjectives.

Direct Instruction

Review Q & A to date and essay answers through "MY NAME."

Read together - "Cathy Queen of Cats" and "Our Good Day" 

Guided

Discuss question #14 on handout on page 5 & 6 regarding racism and discrimination.

Answer questions 1-13 on page 5 and then questions 1-13 on page 7 of handout.

Review answers / Discuss connections to our own lives.

Exit Pass

Is it easier to grow up in a poor neighborhood not knowing about a better life or is knowing better because it gives HOPE (esperenza) of a better future.

HW - read - pages -17-25 - be able to summerize those three vignettes tomorrow
