"Greek myths are based in religious beliefs and often used to explain natural phenomenons (occurrences) and/or other mysteries.

Direct Instruction
Natural occurrences or phenomenons include things that occur naturally but were hard to explain a long time ago.  These include, rain, fire, storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Myths help explain these things.
